It has been many lifetimes since the cycle began.

The cycle that still haunts Annisa Lawson.

A spell cast in desperation to help, which only caused heartache.

Now, Annisa has found her way out of the varying repeats of her past; only to bring more danger to herself, and those around her. Now she must learn to survive with the help of her friends: Chase, Penelope, and Landon have all gone through each life cycle with Annisa. Sometimes helping, sometimes hindering. Now that Annisa has broken the cycle of their collective punishment, she finds that she needs her friends more than ever to keep their enemies, known, and unknown, at bay. As the group of friends learn of their souls' journeys through their many life cycles, they must also learn to control the magick they have discovered within themselves and each other, in order to defeat the most feared assassin in their world.

Why Miranda thinks book covers are so important...

A book cover is the first impression of your book to a potential reader. As a reader I often times will be drawn in to look closer at a book by the cover. If the cover catches the attention of the readers then they are more likely to look closer and see if it is something that they will enjoy.

The opposite is also true. If your cover is something that the readers really just don’t care for or it blends in with the others then they are more likely to skip over it for a book that is close by that has caught their attention.

Most readers have come to expect the cover of your book to reveal to them what genre your book is. There is a kind of expectation on what a cover should have. It should in some way indicate what the book is about. The days of just a “hot” model on the front of a book to sell that book are over. Those covers are immediately thought of as either romance or BDSM and if that is not the genre they are looking for they will pass right over your book and keep looking for what they enjoy.

You have to be picky and know what you want for your cover. For my first book I used a pre-made cover. The only reason that I did that was because when I was looking at the site I had decided to use I kept coming back to that cover. I looked thoroughly looked through the whole site but that cover kept popping up in my mind. Since it had drawn my attention to that extent and it had the feel I was looking for it became the cover. I have heard from many people that the cover is what drew them to the book in the first place.

Since my books are a series I have the rest of the covers being done as custom so that they will all be similar. For a series you want the reader to know at a glance that those books are all part of the same series. If the covers don’t have anything in common, then the reader will not connect the books right away and you might lose a reader that is looking for a series to read.
