Today we are featuring Laura Kaye!!

Laura Kaye is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of contemporary and paranormal romance. If you like a story to make you breathe a little harder or your heart beat a little faster…if you like your heroes so sexy and tortured your arms ache to console them…if you like your heroines smart, resilient, and real…then curl up in your favorite reading chair with one of Laura’s books and let her take your heart, imagination, and body on a hot, heartfelt, feel-good journey.

In October, I had the absolute honor of meeting her in person at an amazing new convention we were both attending, Hallowread. To my surprise, we were speaking on a panel together, Name that Vampire <-- nervous much? Yes, I was. (Yep! She writes both Contemporary Romance and Paranormal. That's why she's my idol!)

A word from Laura on her new series

And, here it is...

Tall, dark, and lethal...

Trouble just walked into Nicholas Rixey's tattoo parlor. Becca Merritt is warm, sexy, wholesome--pure temptation to a very jaded Nick. He's left his military life behind to become co-owner of Hard Ink Tattoo, but Becca is his ex-commander's daughter. Loyalty won't let him turn her away. Lust has plenty to do with it too.

With her brother presumed kidnapped, Becca needs Nick. She just wasn't expecting to want him so much. As their investigation turns into all-out war with an organized crime ring, only Nick can protect her. And only Becca can heal the scars no one else sees.

Desire is the easy part. Love is as hard as it gets. Good thing Nick is always up for a challenge...

**I bought this book on release day and started reading it, and let me tell you... AH-mazeballs from page 1 <3 **

My review of Taking Talon by Jennifer Malone Wright

Blurb
The Arcadia Falls Chronicles continues with Chloe, Drew and the rest of their small group training hard for the impending attack on the Talon Building, the hub of business for all vampires.

The board of vampire hunters has refused to help them, leaving only a select few hunters who will risk the anger of the board by joining the mission.

Together, this small group infiltrates the depths of Talon. There, Chloe finds that one crucial mistake will cause a problem far worse than any of them could have imagined.

My Review
5 Owls
I feel the need to quote a Brittney Spears' song right now, "Oops, she did it again!" I was one of the lucky few asked to beta read Taking Talon. I became a fan of Chloe from The Vampire Hunter's Daughter before I became best friends with her creator, Jennifer Malone Wright. In this installment, as a reader we get to see Chloe grow and evolve into a fierce, protective and smart vampire hunter. At the same time, we are pulled into her budding relationship with her half brother, Zander. The melee between Team Drew and Team Gavin takes an awesome twist during a pivotal moment.
I have to say that Alice is quickly becoming a character I crave to read more about with each installment:) I cannot recommend this book, or this series for that matter highly enough! If you haven't met Chloe, get started with The Vampire Hunter's Daughter Part 1. It's always FREE and trust me... you'll get sucked in. Don't be surprised if you find yourself telling your friends... It's always Vampire Hunting Season!

My Review of Twisted by Jenny Phillips

Blurb
Gianna’s life has not been easy. She’s merely counted down the days until she can leave Fort Miami, with all the stares and whispers behind. However, when her childhood friend Hunter returns, it forces her to face memories she’s tried to forget. But what memories are real and which ones are that of an eight year old’s imagination?

Hunter doesn’t remember anything from that horrific night. Can Gianna trust someone who seems to have forgotten her once before? Can she put the pieces of that night together before it’s too late and she loses everyone she loves, even if that means believing in something that she’s only faced in her nightmares?

Twisted is the first installment in A Twisted Fairy Tale Novella Series.

My Review

5 cups of expresso
This was one of those little gems that kept my attention from beginning to end. It's a short story series, and I really appreciate the fact that more authors are putting these out. Being a writer myself, sometimes I only have time for a quick read and this fit the bill.
I completely fell in love with the Hansel and Gretel twist on this story. Gianna and Hunter jump from the page and come to life in your mind. One of my pet peeves is a one dimensional or flat character. Jenny Phillips has breathed life into fresh characters and an amazing twist on an old tale.

Mel's Review of In My Dreams by Cameo Renae

It was happening again. The dreams. The nightmares. It was something that seventeen year-old Elizabeth Hayes thought she d outgrown; dreams that would come true; detailed premonitions of how people would die. This time she dreams about her boyfriend, Michael Young, and soon discovers that he has been found... dead.

He has not crossed over because he was murdered, and now the murderer is after Lizzy. His spirit won't rest until she is safe. As a newbie spirit, the easiest way for him to make contact is through Lizzy's dreams. When she dreams, it's as if he hasn't died.
Lizzy must learn to pull on her inner strength to survive horrifying events, and is faced with a most difficult decision. Would she risk her life to save her best friend and the very person responsible for Michael's death?
Meanwhile, Michael learns everything he can about his supernatural gifts to help. But will it be enough to save her?

Mel's Review

There are great books and then there are books like this that are so unbelievably amazing that they stand out even amongst the greats. A book so good that when you finally turn that last page you feel like it changed a little piece of you and will stay with you forever. It wrapped itself around my heart and for that I would like to thank you Cameo. I have not felt such strong emotion for a set of characters in a very long time...if ever. She truly has a real gift bringing her characters to life, and if In My Dreams is any indicator of whats to come in Cameo's books I certainly can not wait to read more! In my opinion if you like to read YA or even if you don't you ABSOLUTELY need to read this book.  Rating: 5 penguins

The sequel to In My Dreams, Hidden Wings Releases on January 18, 2013!
