The Ouija Board (Paranormal Adventure Series Book 1)

When Alycia and her three best friends buy a Ouija board for some late night entertainment, they come in contact with something that defies all reason. They find themselves faced with questions that would make others run in fear. Delving into this frightening unknown, they soon discover they are dealing with a force more powerful than they could possibly understand.

Enlisting some knowledgeable help on supernatural entities, they are introduced to a world they never thought existed. As they try to maintain the normalcy of their summer break and figure out how to rid themselves of this other worldly being they realize their lives will never be the same and that some games aren’t meant to be played with.

It's summer! What better way to start it off than with a sleepover with your 3 best friends. Right? Well Alycia thought so until they found a new game to play at the Goodwill. A Ouija board!!!
My mother always told me to stay the heck away from those things. They could bring evil into your life and it's hard enough without that crap. Well this group of girls have now tangled themselves up in a big old mess. I mean OLD. They have now met a guy from the early 1900's who they want to desperately get rid of.
They meet a Medium who wants to help. I LOVE this character. She developed pretty well in this short read and I'm anxious to get to know her better in the next book. Because of coarse there's a cliffhanger!!! I just love them....it means more books coming. Haha!
This story has great "chill factor". I read it in bed in the dark and had to keep turning the lights on and off to look around when I felt something watching me or heard a noise. Lol. I guess I'll always be a scaredy cat. Meow!
This was a very good debut for Shelby White and I am looking forward to reading more of her work. I highly recommend this read.

My Journey with MS week #2

I have to say this week has been rough... to say the least. I'm back in the full swing of writing, editing, formatting, promoting, blogging, insta-twitter-facebooking (I made that word up! Yes, you can use it and you are welcome, lol), making graphics, networking with other authors, doing the mommy and wife thing, plus getting ready for Christmas. Whoo! I'm tired again just thinking about all I've done! And I've done it all while dealing with this bitch they call MS!!

Everyday is a struggle. I know that I need to rest, but I also don't want to disappoint you guys again. So, my happy medium is to work from bed most of the day, and when I feel a bit stronger I head downstairs (most of the time sliding on my ample bum) to take care of things that need to be done there. I'm quite proud of myself. I refuse to give up. My resolve is an inherited trait from my parents, and I'm embracing it. But I have to say, I'm one of the lucky ones. When I went to see my neurologist for the first time, my husband went with me of course. As I sat in the waiting room trying desperately to hand write legibly all of my medical information on the forms, my phone rang and the waiting room door opened. My dad was calling and Bryce's mom walked in the waiting room... both just wanting me to know that I had their support no matter what. The doctor told me that lots of MS patients don't have the network of family, friends, love, and support that I do.

That's the moment that I knew, I would make it. It's a hard road to endure and not one that I willingly signed up for, but I'll take on the burden and instead of looking at my glass half empty, I smile to myself and say, "I say, looky there... I have a glass full of love, sunshine, and smiles!" Yeah, I'm gonna make it.
MS is such a debilitating disease, and I haven't told you guys EVERYTHING that it's done to me because it's personal. I've been asked if I would write a book about my journey and struggles. Maybe. I never say never, but right now I'm just happy decorating for Christmas, baking, writing again, talking to friends and family and just flat out living life. I'll be back next week with my weekly update, but until then... I think the graphic below pretty much sums it up!
Tune in next Saturday to see what adventures MS takes us on! LOL!

As always, until next time...

Author Biography
Jennifer Malone Wright is best known for her short story series, The Vampire Hunter's Daughter. Other works include the follow up to The Vampire Hunter's Daughter series called The Arcadia Falls Chronicles, The Graveyard Guardians series, and her vampire novel called Savior. Jennifer also co-authors a series called Once Upon A Zombie Apocalypse as well the Beary Tales series.

She resides in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho with her husband and five children where she practices preparing for the zombie apocalypse. Just kidding!

But seriously, between the craziness of taking care of her children, Jennifer has little time left for herself. The time she does have left, usually leading far into the night, is spent working on her beloved fiction or chatting with her equally crazy friends.

Jennifer also loves coffee, has a passionate affair with red bull, wishes the sushi were better where she lives and dances while she cleans.

This special edition of The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter contains parts I-VI, the complete collection. Fourteen-year-old Chloe witnesses her mother’s murder at the hands of a vampire. Before the vampire can kidnap her, there is an unexpected rescue by a group of vampire hunters.

Overwhelmed by the feeling of safety, Chloe passes out and they whisk her away to their small community. When Chloe wakes, she comes face to face with the only other living relative, besides her mother, whom she has ever met: her grandfather. Chloe’s mother kept her hidden from the family; now, Chloe tries to unveil the family secrets.

Through her grandfather, she learns her mother was a vampire hunter. In fact, her entire family is descended from the powerful bloodlines of vampire hunters. Chloe agrees to join the family she has never known for one reason only: Chloe vows to kill the vampire responsible for her mother’s murder. With vengeance in her soul, Chloe is even more determined to follow through on her vow when she discovers the true identity of her enemy and how he is connected to her.

Experience the world of vampires hunter’s, vampires and mythology with Chloe in this exciting series.

My Review
5 Owls
I first became aware of The Vampire Hunter's Daughter by seeing a post for a free ebook of the first part in my facebook news feed. I thought to myself, it was short and it was free. I needed something fast to read, so I downloaded and opened up my kindle and began to read. Immediately sucked into the world of 14 year old Chloe,  the rollercoaster ride of adrenaline and sheer awesomeness began! Luckily, it was the next day Jennifer had announced that she had prints of the complete collection. I quickly purchased one and within two days it was in my hot little hands. I stayed up that whole night and read the complete series in one sitting. I was blown away. Vampires, Vampire Hunters, Demi-Gods and Angels... the supernatural smorgasbord was unlike anything I had ever read before or since. I highly recommend this YA Paranormal piece of paradise to all book lovers. Get lost in Chloe's world and remember; It's always Vampire hunting season!

A war is brewing between the hunters and the vampires and Chloe is determined to strike against the vampires before they have a chance to attack. Unfortunately, her plan goes all wrong and results in a massive takeover by the undead.

This group of unlikely heroes have the power of elements, magic and strength on their side. They have even recruited one of the original vampires to help aid in their mission. But will it be enough? Will society ever go back to normal now that the world knows that vampires truly exist?

The Arcadia Falls Chronicles is the continuation of The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter. Following the format of The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter, The Arcadia Falls Chronicles is serialized into several novella-length stories.

My Review
5 Owls
Jennifer has done it again! The continuation of The Vampire Hunter's Daughter, we continue to follow Chloe and her merry band of friends as they battle the undead. Chloe has grown up before our eyes through the writer's pen and she's amazing! The story is fluid. The characters develop before your very eyes as you read. And, there's never really a dull moment! Grab this set of the first 6 books pulled together in a fabulous boxed set in time for the holidays! Great for your favorite YA readers!

What happens when the hunter becomes the hunted? Christina is about to find out when she awakes as the one thing she hates the most.

Anthony, the original vampire has whisked her away to his country home to help her through this difficult transition. Though Christina knows that she is isolated for the protection of her friends and family, being alone with only her new mentor proves a challenge.

Once a Vampire Hunter, control has never been an issue. Now, as a vampire, controlling the bloodlust might just be the fight of her life.

My Review
5 Owls
AH-MAZE-BALLS! This installment of The Arcadia Falls Chronicles is told from Christina's POV. This strayed from all the others, as we've always seen this story play out through Chloe's eyes. This was an added bonus for us fans! You have to read this, because you'll love Christina even more :)

When her father died, Lucy Mae Estmond inherited the family business. She has known all of her life that she would be in line to watch over the souls of the recently passed, keeping them safe from the Reapers.

The soul eating Reapers have been a plague upon the Earth, stealing souls and leaving the Keepers as the only thing that stands between Heaven and Hell. The factions despise each other and have warred for generations.

Then Lucy discovers an ancient legend predicting the arrival of the Chosen One, destined to bring forth an end to the Reapers. The surprises continue when she realizes she is that person. For Lucy, being the Chosen One doesn’t change much. Fighting Reapers is just another day in the life of a Keeper.

When she meets Jack Walker, they both realize they have an insane, mutual attraction. Too bad that he’s been sent to prevent the prophecy from coming true. His only mission: to kill the Chosen One.

At the end of Keeper vs. Reaper, you get a special preview of Author Rue Volley's new novel, Stardust! Read the blurb here.

When Jasmine gets the call that her father has died, she immediately heads home to Stillcreek, Pa. Having been gone for years, she thought she had shed the small town and the insecure girl that she once was. However, returning home opens up all of the old wounds she thought she had mended and brings back her panic attacks and inability to deal with her overbearing sisters. The only thing that seems to pacify her anxiety is Cody Baker. Cody has a way of making her feel calm, when she needs it the most. Opening up to this stranger she meets on a train, Jasmine lets him in when the walls she has so carefully constructed start to crumble from grief. It may appear that Jasmine is the only one in need, but as most things go, appearances can be deceiving. Perhaps she is not the one who truly needs salvation.

The love of her life left her long ago, shattering her heart into a million pieces. It’s taken Hannah almost twelve years to push away the hurt and move on with life. That is, until the death of a Reaper brings Detective David Foster back to town and their paths cross once again.

With more and more of the soul-eating Reapers passing through town in search of the Chosen One, who happens to be her sister Lucy, the Estmond family has been busy enough. Now, they rally together in hopes of keeping Hannah out of prison.

With all the trouble lately, being a Keeper, a protector of souls, has never been more difficult for Hannah. Will she forgive David and rekindle their relationship? More importantly, will he find out she is the one responsible for the murder he is investigating?

Sparks fly in more ways than one in the second installment of the Graveyard Guardians.

Once upon a time, something wicked was woven. A magic formed by darkness and pain, a magic that only the victim of a broken heart could have created.

The death of her one true love has forced Goldalynn to use dark magic. Determined to bring him back she discovers she must acquire the pelts of three bears under the light of the blue moon to fulfill the spell.

The blue moon has risen and the three bears are caged, awaiting the fate of Goldalynn’s deadly spell. But, a collision of spells, magic dark and light create a curse, a curse that turns the bears fur into soft skin and their paws into delicate arms and legs… a curse that turns them human. Now these bears in human bodies must travel across the magical realms of the modern world searching for a way to break the curse.

This dark fairy tale is not the book your mother read you when tucking you in at night, you won’t find a fairy tale princess who needs a rescue, but there might be a prince or three in this world. Find out as Beary Tales takes you on a magically twisted adventure.

Jennifer has informed me that Arcadia 8 Mortals and Magic will hopefully release in December and Keeper Under Fire hopefully will release in January! I'm totally stoked for both releases! Make sure you stalk Jennifer at the links listed below!!

My Review of The Haunted Vagina by Carlton Mellick III

It's difficult to love a woman whose vagina is a gateway to the world of the dead...

Steve is madly in love with his eccentric girlfriend, Stacy. Unfortunately, their sex life has been suffering as of late, because Steve is worried about the odd noises that have been coming from Stacy's pubic region. She says that her vagina is haunted. She doesn't think it's that big of a deal. Steve, on the other hand, completely disagrees.

When a living corpse climbs out of her during an awkward night of sex, Stacy learns that her vagina is actually a doorway to another world. She persuades Steve to climb inside of her to explore this strange new place. But once inside, Steve finds it difficult to return... especially once he meets an oddly attractive woman named Fig, who lives within the lonely haunted world between Stacy's legs.

My Review
OMFG!!! Where has Bizarro Fiction been all of my life? I loved this book!! I haven't laughed that hard in years!! This book was well written, and absolutely hysterical! If you're a prude, this book is not for you. Stacy has a haunted vagina. The female genitalia is talked about often. I won't give spoilers, but GET. THIS. BOOK!

***NEW RELEASE*** Ghosts From My Past by K.B. Miller

You've been waiting to hear my real ghost stories... well it's time! Ghosts From My Past is a collection of actual events that have happened to me. NONE of these stories have been exaggerated or embellished for entertainment purposes. They are told exactly as they happened. Names were changed to protect identities.

Scary movies have always frightened, yet fascinated me at the same time. But what truly sends shivers of fear up and down my spine is the reality of what lives in our very own homes, and most of the time, just out of sight: Ghosts.

That bump in the night you swear must be the dog. The sound of a girlish little giggle or the glimpse of a shadow from the corner of your eye, but you're the only one in the house. Have you ever put something down for just a moment, turn around and it's gone?

Well... I have, and these are a few of my REAL life ghost stories.

Ouroboros by Brea Essex

I have to say that I haven't had a chance to read Ouroboros yet, but I bought it, and will be soon! This looks awesome!

Waking up from a coma is hard enough, but throw in an undead ghost at the foot of your hospital bed, and you’ve got a big problem.

While recovering from a rock-climbing accident, eighteen-year-old Rhiannon Sorenson meets Zachary Cohen, a Zayin—one of an elite fighting force for the supernatural realm—and wonders why she’s the only one who can see him. Not only that, he tells her he needs her help to find his physical body, which has mysteriously gone missing. As Rhi reluctantly agrees to come to Zac’s aid, they both uncover a trail of deadly revelations about a powerful and evil being: The Necrovorst.

In this first installment of a trilogy filled with vibrant and imaginative mythology from around the world, follow Zac and Rhi while they face powerful, supernatural beings, and learn all that they can in order to stop The Necrovorst.

My Review of Ghost Diaries Case #1 by Willow Cross

Blurb
While rifling through her deceased father’s belongings, a young woman named Taija Ford discovered a maze of files filled with journal entries and old letters that mention various claims of hauntings and alleged demonic possession. The oldest dating back to 1881.
This particular file asserts a girl named Sarah Beth Hawkins was attacked by an unseen entity. In an attempt to piece together her father’s previously secret life, Taija opened her own investigation into these Ghost Diaries. This is Case #1-Sarah Beth Hawkins.

Ghost Diaries is a series of episodic short stories.

My Review
5 cups of expresso
I'm not sure what to say... I'm once again floored at the caliber of writing this Author offers to the Literary community at large. Willow Cross has the ability to weave magic into her words, providing the reader with a real glimpse into her characters worlds. So much so, that you feel like you are there... experiencing it yourself. Ghost Diaries kept me up at night, yet made me long for the next installment! Kudos to Willow Cross and her new hit series,  Ghost Diaries!
