My family is what keeps my heart beating, and my world a happy place to be.
I was born in San Francisco, raised in Maui, Hawaii, and recently moved with my husband and children to Alaska.
I'm a daydreamer, a caffeine and peppermint addict. I love to laugh, love to read, and love to escape reality. One of my greatest joys is creating fantasy worlds filled with adventure and romance, and sharing it with others.
One day I hope to find my own magic wardrobe, and ride away on a magical unicorn. Until then...I'll keep writing!

Chapter 1
“Emma, wake up.” I blinked several times, trying to focus in the darkness, only to find Kade’s distraught eyes hovering close by. “Another nightmare?” he asked.
I nodded, wiping the beads of sweat from my brow and then cuddled close to him, resting my head on his chest. The beating of his heart had a way of calming my anxiety, soothing my every fear.
“Maybe you should talk to Alaine,” he whispered, pressing his lips to the top of my head.
“I’ll talk to her in the morning,” I exhaled.
“You’re shaking.” His hands rubbed down my arms. “Was it about me?”
I could sense a hint of concern in his voice.
“No,” I breathed. “It was about Alaine this time.”
I tried to erase the visions of her scorched and blistered body from my mind, but it was still there. In full color. Terrorizing me. The smell of smoke was still lingering in my nose, and the heat of the flames still felt warm on my skin.
I didn’t want to worry anyone with my troubles, but it was the third time this week I’d woken Kade with these horrifying nightmares. Every night it was a different loved one, and they were getting stronger as they progressed.
What was most unnerving was the shadowy figure with onyx wings present in every one. I could never make out the face but could sense its twisted pleasure as it watched me suffer.
I’d had enough of watching my loved ones endure horrible and painful deaths. Although they were nightmares, the pain was real and lingered for days after. It was something I couldn’t just erase. These dreams ate at my soul, keeping me tight in its cold, indifferent arms, holding on through my waking hours.
I prayed they weren’t premonitions, and I prayed Kade wouldn’t be in any future nightmares. I’d watched him suffer in real life, and it’d shattered my entire being. Now that we were bonded, watching it happen again would kill me.
I glanced over at the clock. It was four in the morning, but I didn’t want to go back to sleep.
“Where are you going?” Kade asked as I slipped from the warmth of his arms.
“To make some coffee and read the book Lia sent me.”
“You sure you don’t want to stay here with me?”
“You know I do, I just don’t want to go back to sleep.”
His hazel eyes swirled with desire. “I didn’t say we had to sleep.”
“Are you seducing me, Mr. Anders?”
A grin played on his lips as he pulled the covers down. “Maybe.”
“Well then,” I exhaled, jumping in next to him. “Coffee can wait.”

Out of fear of history repeating itself, Leeny made her first kill, and for the last three years her sole mission has been to drive the vampires out of Ireland. With the help of neighboring covens she is not alone in her pursuit.

However, the close friendship developing between Finn O’Donnell and Leeny is causing a problem in her budding relationship with Seamus McNamara.

Chuya's Review for Finding Kia by Airicka Phoenix

Kia Valentines had always accepted the fact that she was a nerd, a nobody. It was a badge she wore with honor, until the day she saved Claudia DeLorenzo’s life and lost herself.
When offered the chance to shed her identity for a single night, Kia never believed it would change her life. It was one night. It meant nothing, or it shouldn't have. But that single night turned out to be her undoing when she finds passion in the arms of the one person she can never have.

Adam Chaves was more than just a gorgeous face, he made her laugh, but more importantly, when he looked at her, she felt like the most beautiful girl on earth. But Adam has no idea that Kia was the girl behind the mask and Kia has no intention of telling him. But a secret could only be kept if no one else knows about it. Claudia knows and she wants something Kia isn't willing to give in order to keep it.

Will Kia succumb? And just how far is Claudia willing to go to get what she wants?

My Review

If I had more handbags to give, I would!
OMG Finding Kia has taken me back to what I now see as a simpler time but man that was SO NOT the case back then. LOL
Airicka Phoenix has captured all those feelings I too had as a teenager. Fading in the background and staying out of dramas way was what Kia found bliss and a happy way of life. I totally get that. I really do.
When she decides that a change is in order, I shouted in my empty house for her as I read it. Lol. I loved this book. Cover to cover. Great read for all ages. Moms, share this book with your daughters and vice versa. Great job Airicka Phoenix! I look forward to reading the next one.
Happy Reading.

My review of Taking Talon by Jennifer Malone Wright

Blurb
The Arcadia Falls Chronicles continues with Chloe, Drew and the rest of their small group training hard for the impending attack on the Talon Building, the hub of business for all vampires.

The board of vampire hunters has refused to help them, leaving only a select few hunters who will risk the anger of the board by joining the mission.

Together, this small group infiltrates the depths of Talon. There, Chloe finds that one crucial mistake will cause a problem far worse than any of them could have imagined.

My Review
5 Owls
I feel the need to quote a Brittney Spears' song right now, "Oops, she did it again!" I was one of the lucky few asked to beta read Taking Talon. I became a fan of Chloe from The Vampire Hunter's Daughter before I became best friends with her creator, Jennifer Malone Wright. In this installment, as a reader we get to see Chloe grow and evolve into a fierce, protective and smart vampire hunter. At the same time, we are pulled into her budding relationship with her half brother, Zander. The melee between Team Drew and Team Gavin takes an awesome twist during a pivotal moment.
I have to say that Alice is quickly becoming a character I crave to read more about with each installment:) I cannot recommend this book, or this series for that matter highly enough! If you haven't met Chloe, get started with The Vampire Hunter's Daughter Part 1. It's always FREE and trust me... you'll get sucked in. Don't be surprised if you find yourself telling your friends... It's always Vampire Hunting Season!

Mel's Review of In My Dreams by Cameo Renae

It was happening again. The dreams. The nightmares. It was something that seventeen year-old Elizabeth Hayes thought she d outgrown; dreams that would come true; detailed premonitions of how people would die. This time she dreams about her boyfriend, Michael Young, and soon discovers that he has been found... dead.

He has not crossed over because he was murdered, and now the murderer is after Lizzy. His spirit won't rest until she is safe. As a newbie spirit, the easiest way for him to make contact is through Lizzy's dreams. When she dreams, it's as if he hasn't died.
Lizzy must learn to pull on her inner strength to survive horrifying events, and is faced with a most difficult decision. Would she risk her life to save her best friend and the very person responsible for Michael's death?
Meanwhile, Michael learns everything he can about his supernatural gifts to help. But will it be enough to save her?

Mel's Review

There are great books and then there are books like this that are so unbelievably amazing that they stand out even amongst the greats. A book so good that when you finally turn that last page you feel like it changed a little piece of you and will stay with you forever. It wrapped itself around my heart and for that I would like to thank you Cameo. I have not felt such strong emotion for a set of characters in a very long time...if ever. She truly has a real gift bringing her characters to life, and if In My Dreams is any indicator of whats to come in Cameo's books I certainly can not wait to read more! In my opinion if you like to read YA or even if you don't you ABSOLUTELY need to read this book.  Rating: 5 penguins

The sequel to In My Dreams, Hidden Wings Releases on January 18, 2013!
